Lemon

I bought the young lemon seedling from a nursery about two and a half years ago. Waited very patiently for it to flower. It finally did, in February.  I was so excited!

After almost four months, it is now as big as a ping-pong ball.

I wonder how much longer must I wait before I could harvest, there are only three fruits! From what I read from the internet websites, lemon will mature about 6 months later. Now I am wondering whether is this lime or lemon, as I could not remember which variety of lemon I bought, I only remembered that I paid for a lemon plant. Could this mistakenly be lime?
Guess I've got to wait for a couple of months more, hopefully they will turn yellow, like lemons do!

  1. The colour of the flowers is different from mine. Mine is pinkish. It is in a pot, right? After all, it's all about your potted garden. I'm sure you'll be seeing 30 lemons if you transfer this to the ground.

  5. I used to have a lemon tree, but it was very mature...the lemons were green until ready for harvest but there were always hundreds. I am not sure if yours are lime? Regardless it looks gorgeous!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

  11. I bought the same plant from the nursery end of last year! I was told this is a lemon tree, but it looks more like a lime tree to me? (Duh). It already has 2 fruits hanging there when i brought it back. But until today the fruits are still so green. Don't know should i pluck them off? I don't think they will turn yellow lor.... already waited for more than 6 months...

  12. So was it lemon or lime? My brother is growing a lemon tree but he said he needs to wait 6 years for it to fruit....Do you know where I can buy a lemon (yellow and oval one of course) plant that has bloomed and fruit already? I kind of like lemons but they cause 90 cents to RM1 this days...

    1. Hi, These turned out to be limes. I have just bought a lemon plant with one oval fruit and now it has four fruits. For more info on the nursery, please read my latest post, which I has just posted yesterday. Hope you are able to find your lemon tree! Happy Gardening!
